Lazy Saturday

Last night/morning I went to sleep around 5 AM, because that's how I roll Friday nights. Anyway, this morning I woke up at 11.23 and it was awesome.

First I thought that I will go to Cork with my friends to do some unhealthy shopping and our traditional Saturday lunch at Eddie Rocket's, but then I realized that I am forgetting one little detail: I can't breathe. I've had this annoying cough since Monday morning and it's not getting any better and I want to go to see Taken 2 tomorrow afternoon so I just decided to stay in bed and hope that if I am good and not running outside the cough might just walk away.
I managed to dye my hair and have a nice long shower, but I swear that was the only time I left bed.

I am going to Czech Republic to visit my family by the end of the year, so I bought a new suitcase on Tuesday. I wanted to get a blue one and then use some textile paint to make it look like Tardis, but they had a pink one in sale for only 25 Euro, so I got that one.
I also already have the flight booked and a massive thanks goes to my hostfamily, because they paid the flights for me.

That's probably all from me for this week.
I will come back when something interesting happens.

Until then you can do what I do, listen to this song. It's the intro to a song called Some Nights you can hear on the radio. And when it ends, play it over. And over. And over. And then repeat the process.

Enjoy!

Thailand: The official first post

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now, but this is the first time I am putting it online for the world to see.
I always wanted to do some volunteer work and I always thought that I will be going to Africa to help with building a school or bringing drinking water to a village, but not so long ago I was looking really deep into this volunteering business and I found an orphanage in Thailand that is looking for volunteers to come there for six months and more and help them with teaching the children, raising money, administrative work, etc.

Yes, they only have a cold shower and you have to sleep under a net if you don't want to die of some horrible disease we don't even know but I am really really really and totally really considering it.

Finally this would be something where I would be able to give something back to the community and that was my aim for years. I would be able to make somebody's life better. And you know the rule: if you can make a difference even for just one person, it counts.

It would be amazing. I want to go. And hopefully, in a few months I will get on a plane and go there because this is something I really need to do.

YES.

New design

Hi, it's me again.
I hope you're all very proud of me. I spent a good few hours working on my new blog design. That would make one believe that I am really serious about this blogging thing.
But don't get your hopes up much, I just missed the good old days of making a new myspace layout every week and this brought it all back. Also it was a good chance to listen to some Pet Shop Boys and Pulp. There is no better occasion to listen to them than working on a new layout.

Anyway, I hope you all like the lovely blue birds, my awesome picture and the new fonts.

I know I do!

Still alive.

My dear non-existent readers,

maybe you've been coming to my blog every waking hour of past few months, desperately reloading this page hoping that a new post will come up. Well guess what. Your dreams have just come true.

Rather than writing blog for no readers at all, I decided to go for the plan B: write this blog for my future readers, for the times when I am rich and famous. They will read this and think "Wow, she was even more annoying back there when she was 23".

But hey, I am not giving up. Do you want to know why? Because Clint Catalyst once read this blog. And that's more than I could ever ask for. He actually knows that I exist and he read something that I wrote.

I hate my life, but this is definitely the highlight.

I'll be back soon and I will tell you about my wonderful plans to save the world.

Till then!

Post IV: A New Hope

With a great help of my hostfamily I've got my hands on a new laptop. Actutally it's not so new, it's second hand, but hey, it works and it's enough for my blabbing here and time wasting on facebook.
So hopefully now I will find something interesting to complain about and get a few more posts to you.

So excited, so excited, fun fun fun!

RIP Charlie.

Who is Charlie, you ask? Charlie was my little laptop. He was made on 21st of April 2007 and his hard disk gave up on this world on 7th of May 2012. There was nothing I could do to save him. And believe me, I tried.

So just in case you're wondering if I already gave up on my blog here, the asnwer is simple: No, I did not. I just don't have as much access to the internet as I used to, so not only I have to deal with being a Facebook addict without going on Facebook [I don't even have a smartphone], but I cannot write my wonderful and surely unique thoughts down.
Here is my promise to you, I will try my best to write something from time to time, but for the next few months, there won't be much. But I will make it up to you as soon as I get a new laptop, Charles II.

Until then,
take care.
xoxo

A sexy dance for CC

What my mind can produce while I'm asleep will never stop to amaze me. Or, in this case, question my own sanity.
It started at some bus station. I am sitting on a bench, waiting for my bus and reading The Long Dark Tea Time Of The Soul by Douglas Adams. I occasionally look around the room to see if I notice any people I know. And what a lovely surprise, there he is, Clint Catalyst himself.

Dear kids, maybe now is the right moment to explain to you who Clint Catalyst actually is. This guy was (and still is) my religion. I am quite afraid that I might mess up his description, so I just steal a bit from his Wikipedia page:

Clint Catalyst
(source: lucywho.com)
Clint Catalyst is an openly gay American author, actor, screenwriter, television producer, spoken word performer, stylist, and self-described "accidental model"
I discovered him in 2007 and "Meet Clint Catalyst" is on my bucket list ever since. I remember writng a comment on his Myspace profile. It was just a simple sentence "hi Clint, I totally adore you", but I didn't know much English back then so it took me about an hour to put it together with a help of a dictionary and then making sure that it's correct. How surprised I was when he replied to me the next day! I didn't understand a word without an online translator (and even that didn't make much sense), but hey, he wrote me back!
His book called Cottonmouth Kisses is travelling everywhere with me and currently I am translating it into Czech so more people can enjoy the genious that Clint is. Ah. Alright, back to the dream.

I quickly realise that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I get up and walk to him. We start talking and we get along just great. And guess what, we are both waiting for the same bus!
Then we magically transport to the bus seats and we start talking again. He says that he's on his way to the airport because he is flying somewhere tonight. He takes out his boarding pass and I see he's flying with Ryanair. Poor Clint. I try to explain that it's probably the worst choice ever, he replies that it was the cheapest flight and he just had to buy it. I agree, not mentioning that I did the same thing a week ago when I was flying to London. All of the sudden the driver decided to put a radio on and a Crossover song is playing. That's when I noticed the dancing pole in the bus aisle. I don't have any better idea than jumping up and starting some hardcore pole dancing right in front of him. When the song is over and I finish my wannabe sexy dance, Clint is laughing.

Then, thanks to all the power of the Universe, I woke up. I will never find out if he was laughing because it was so awesome or because it was so terrible and he was helpless and had no other choice than just laugh and pray it's over soon.

Inspired by the quote from Reservoir Dogs "You shoot me in a dream, you better wake up and apologize". So Clint, if you're reading this: If we by any chance had a synchronised dream and you witnessed that horrible, horrible thing called me pole dancing, please accept my apologies, it won't happen again.

The First One.

This is the one shot I have to impress you. This is the only shot I have to make you like me and follow my blog. Because what's the point of blogging if you don't have any readers? I may as well write a private diary. Actually  that is what I did last ten years. "Time to move to the 21. century," I said to myself one day.
I had a few blogs, but none of them really stuck with me. Why? Well, probably because I had no followers. Except for my parents. That is never good. Your parents reading your blog, that's even worse than having your parents as friends on Facebook. You can't really share much of your life because no matter how much you like your parents, there are some things that you don't want them to know. So this will be the first thing to do (or not to do): I will keep this blog a secret from my family.

So, what's there to know about me? My name is Anna, I was born in 1988 in a small town in Czech Republic. I am no supermodel (translates as "I'm fat and ugly"), I'm not a native English speaker (translates as "My English is not perfect, but I know the difference between there, their and they're") and I had enough of me sitting in the corner (translates as Watched Dirty Dancing too much").
Two years ago I packed all my stuff, got on a plane and went for a search of my happiness. And for some strange reason, I decided that the place that will make me happy is this little green island, I went to Ireland.

I often have some conflicts with myself. Usually it's because I am an optimist and my inner voice is a damn pessimist. Sometimes it's fun to listen to me talk, sometimes it's annoying, sometimes I forget that there are people around me so I keep asking questions and answering them myself, but in general I'd say that I am harmless. And hilarious. Trust me, I am so amazing that you won't want to miss a single article and you will want more. <- That was quite confident, wasn't it? Oh well.

So welcome to my blog and enjoy the tour!
